Who are we?
Lifeline Express is a multi-national team located in London, UK, that was initially the created by Alya, Irina and Djamilia.
We were fortunate to be joined later by several other wonderful individuals who share our values and principles.
We all have such different and yet similar backgrounds. Most of us were born in various corners of the former Soviet Union who came to London within the last 30 years.
We are professionals and have made careers in different fields, like finance, banking, law, arts, etc.
And then the war started….
We were shocked and devastated by the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. And we decided to help to fight the consequences of this war in our small way. We volunteered to help Ukrainian refugees, alongside other international efforts in London, UK and Europe.
What we have done and continue doing....
We worked in shifts at the tent at the Polish-Ukrainian border, where people could sleep at night or stay-over to get warm
Provided first-response help for arriving Ukrainian refugees at Przemysl station
Worked at and supported the shelter for Ukrainian refugees in Przemysl that was launched by Medyka-based RFU group
Twice a month we still continue organising the transportation of critical humanitarian aid to Ukraine
We assist several hospitals across various parts of Ukraine with important medical aid and equipment
We provide deliveries of warm clothing, generators and basic provision to those suffering from harsh winters and various tragic events like the destruction of Kakhovka dam
We organised a charitable concert Tosca in Odesa in London, UK in November 2023 with participation of leading soloists from Odessa Opera House and raised significant funds to support several charities in Ukraine
We continue to launch various arts events in London and other counties in Europe that focus on supporting the arts community in Ukraine highlighting the difficulties arts and culture is going through while surviving through the brutal Russian invasion
What do we want to do next?
We returned from Poland determined to continue our help to Ukrainian people suffering from the war – very often people in profound distress.
To do this we have set up a community not-for-profit group in London, which we call Lifeline Express.
This name commemorates the Przemysl-Hanover humanitarian train, which operates free of charge.
It takes victims of war away from their horrific circumstances to safety in Western Europe.
During our time at the Polish border, we helped people to get on it and now we want to continue to provide our support.

Contact us to help
Please get in touch with us to discuss details for the above donations in kind as needs in Ukraine change depending on the season and the exact help that would be most needed at a particular point. We are in continuing regular contact with various hospitals, volunteers, schools, shelters for displaced individuals and local authorities - we try to be on the ground ourselves and distribute the aid where we assess is most needed.
